Our Top 5 Favorite Ways to Spoil Yourself at The Disneyland Resort

If you’re anything like me, when you’re on vacation you want to be spoiled. I know I want to vacate my life completely, even if only briefly. That means treating myself to experiences I wouldn’t normally get back home. Luxury, as the saying goes, is in the eye of the beholder – or the vacationer in this case. But no matter what your idea of luxury is, here are some ways you can completely spoil yourself on your next trip to the Disneyland Resort.

Choose the Ultimate Accommodations

Where you stay matters – maybe you want to be close to the theme parks, or maybe you want a view of the fireworks. But when you’re looking to spoil yourself, choose a room on the concierge level. All three Disney resorts – Paradise Pier, Disneyland Hotel, and Grand Californian – offer a concierge level. Not only will you get the services of the resort concierge who can make all of your dining reservations and help with itinerary planning, but you’ll have access to the concierge lounge where you will have light meals, snacks and adult beverages throughout the day.

Want to dial it up a notch? Then you have to book your stay in one of the Disneyland Hotel’s Signature Suites! These are the ultimate accommodations for every Disney fan. Choose from suites themed after Fantasyland, Adventureland, Frontierland, Pirates of the Caribbean and Mickey Mouse himself. Not only are these suites large (hello living room, bedrooms, dining room and bar area!), but there are hidden details throughout each – and with the touch of a button you can trigger some fantastic magical moments. They are the ultimate way to treat yourself on vacation.

Go VIP

What’s the worst part about the parks? The crowds and the lines, am I right? But what if I told you there was a way to avoid all of that and get to do everything you wanted on your vacation? When you book a VIP Tour guide for the day (or, hey, why not your entire vacation) you get exactly that. The “plaids” as they’re called are at your disposal for 6+ hours and will take you around to any attraction you’d like – with little to no wait.

It’s also not unusual for them to create a little extra magic for you as well. On one tour our guide held us back after Turtle Talk with Crush and gave us our own private 10 minute session with the Turtle himself! You can customize the tour however you’d like – if there are characters you want to meet, shows you’d like to see, you want to ride Space Mountain 15 times in a row – you can do all of that with your VIP Guide! It’s the best way to roll out the red carpet and get the royal treatment on vacation, all without having to be actually royal!

Have an Exclusive Meal

Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Resort is Disneyland’s signature restaurant. Any meal here is a wonderful way to treat yourself on your visit. But if you’re looking to be truly spoiled, there’s an even MORE exclusive way to dine. Did you know you can eat at the Chef’s Counter at Napa Rose, all the while interacting with the Chef and his staff? This unique experience can only be reserved by calling the hotel directly.

Once your reservation is secured, you can choose to order from the regular menu, the seasonal four course Vintner’s Menu, or go all in and get a custom six course meal prepared especially for you and tailored to your likes & dislikes. And if you’re feeling up for it (I usually am!) you can add on a custom wine pairing to complement each course of your meal. If you’re a foodie like I am, then this is the ULTIMATE in vacation decadence.

Chill Out for the Afternoon

Who says you have to constantly be on the go on vacation? Sure, the parks are amazing, but sometimes an afternoon by the pool is exactly what you need to feel refreshed. But don’t spend time walking around trying to find unoccupied lounge chairs. You’re spoiling yourself, remember? So you’re going to rent a pool cabana, either for a full or half day.

Lounge away the day in comfort in your own private cabana, complete with shade, ceiling fan, TV, mini fridge (stocked with water), fruit plate, towel service, couches and loungers for the sunbathers in your group. And of course you’ll have a server to come by and take your cocktail and lunch orders. Not having to move every hour to stay in the shade? Spending a day poolside was never more luxurious!

Get Your Dessert On

The Disneyland Resort has some of the best night time shows you can see anywhere. But who wants to spend hours in advance sitting on a curb reserving your spot? Not me! I’d rather be eating a fabulous dinner somewhere. Instead, spoil yourself with a dessert party that gives you special viewing of the night time activities. Then, simply roll up to the designated location at your party time and you get sweet treats AND a show. Perfection!

Currently, there is a dessert party at Paradise Gardens Park for World of Color that includes sweet and savory dessert options as well as sparkling wine. Yes, please! If parades are more your thing, then book yourself a reservation at the Sonoma Terrace Paint the Night reception, where you’ll get a charcuterie tray with wine, beer or non-alcoholic beverage. Not to mention the amazing views right above the parade route!

Those are some of my favorite ways to spoil myself when I’m visiting the Disneyland resort, but I’d love to hear from you! How do you spoil yourself on vacation? And how many of these options are you going to try on your next trip!?
